Integrated Master in Psychology

FPUL offers a Master Degree in Psychology recognised internationally for its quality. Teaching is based on lessons balanced between theoretical and practical components. Classes are complemented by seminars and conferences given by national and international experts.

Some modules have a strong laboratory and field component, with students having opportunities to participate in real investigations.

Along with the classes, students also have supervised discussions in small groups to discuss their research ideas and their intervention projects.

The additional support of teachers is what makes the teaching method in the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Lisbon special.

FPUL also offers immense opportunities to study abroad for a semester or a year – about 25% of our students spend some time in another country as part of their undergraduate program.

MIP provides prospective psychologists with knowledge and skills applicable in a number ofprofessional fields. For this reason, our graduates work as health professionals in hospitals and health centres, as well as psychotherapists and counsellors in private practice, as school psychologists, as environmental consultants, as organisational consultants, as HR technicians and managers in companies, and as entrepreneurs in various fields of applied psychology.

FPUL’s Integrated Master of Psychology is recognized by the Portuguese Psychologists Association (OPP) so the Masters of Psychology trained here can apply directly to the professional stage required to be an effective member of the OPP (Ordem dos Psicólogos).

History shows, without the slightest doubt, that FPUL graduates have easy access to the labor market due to their recognized rigorous preparation, independent thinking and entrepreneurial spirit.

The Integrated Masters in Psychology aims to train psychologists in various areas of professional activity and scientific research through a syllabus that is structured according to the internationally established criteria for this training and in particular with that provided for in the European Diploma in Psychology.
